Curve your text into an arch, a smile, a team-shirt arch over a straight line, a circle badge or a full circle, and see it in 31 crafting fonts at once. Download it free as a welded SVG cut file for Cricut and Silhouette, at the size you need, or as a transparent PNG.
Every font is open-license (SIL Open Font License), so you can use your designs on crafts you sell. No sign-up, no watermark.

How to curve text for Cricut
- Pick a shape: Arch, Smile, Arch + line, Circle badge or Full circle.
- Type your text. For Arch + line and Circle badge, add the second line too.
- Drag Curve to make the arch gentle or deep, and adjust the letter spacing if letters touch.
- Scroll to Your design in every font and tap the font you like. Every card shows your actual design.
- Set the width, or tap a project such as Tumbler or Shirt front, then download the SVG cut file or the PNG.
Your text and settings stay on this device, so you can come back and pick up where you left off.
Which curve shape should I use?
- Arch: the rainbow curve for shirts, tote bags and signs. Around 60° to 140° looks best for most words.
- Smile: text that curves down, often placed under an arch or a graphic so the two frame it.
- Arch + line: the classic team, school and family shirt, like “MAMA” arched over “EST. 2026”. Use a second font for the straight line.
- Circle badge: top and bottom text around a circle with rings and centre text, for small-business logos, coasters, stickers and “Est.” signs.
- Full circle: text all the way around, for round coasters, ornaments, plates and stamp-style designs.
Why use this instead of the curve tool in Design Space?
Cricut Design Space can curve one line of text into a single arc. It can’t put text around the top and bottom of a circle, add rings or set a straight line under an arch. Script letters on a curve also need welding by hand. This generator does all of that, welds everything into one shape and uses fonts you’re free to sell with, so the file is ready to cut as soon as you upload it.
How to cut your curved text with a Cricut
- In Cricut Design Space, click Upload, then Upload Image, and choose the SVG you downloaded.
- Add it to your canvas. It opens at the width you picked and is already welded into one shape.
- For iron-on vinyl (HTV), turn on Mirror before cutting. Adhesive vinyl doesn’t need mirroring.
- Weed slowly around script letters, and use transfer tape to keep the curve in place when you apply it.
Each font shows a cutting level. Easy weed fonts have thick letters. Fine detail fonts have thin script strokes, so cut them larger. The generator also tells you the smallest width that weeds cleanly. If you need it smaller, print it instead. Silhouette users can open the SVG in Silhouette Studio Designer Edition or higher.
Curved text ideas
- Family and team shirts: “MAMA” or a team name arched over the year, a player number or a town.
- Small-business logos: a Circle badge with your shop name on top, your city underneath and your initials in the middle.
- Tumblers and mugs: a gentle arch over a monogram. Make the monogram in our Monogram Maker.
- Weddings: “Bride Squad” or the couple’s names arched over the date, for welcome signs and bachelorette shirts. Pair it with a design from our Wedding Monogram Maker.
- Coasters and ornaments: a Full circle with a phrase repeated around the edge.

Frequently asked questions
Is the curved text generator really free?
Yes. Every design downloads free as an SVG and PNG, with no sign-up, no watermark and no Cricut Access subscription needed.
Can I sell shirts and crafts made with these fonts?
Yes. All 31 fonts are released under the SIL Open Font License, which allows commercial use, so you can sell physical items made with your designs.
Will the SVG work in Cricut Design Space?
Yes. The letters are converted to shapes and welded into one piece, so you don’t need the font installed and nothing moves when you upload it. It opens at the width you chose.
How do I stop script letters from separating on a curve?
Script fonts start with no extra letter spacing, so neighbouring letters keep touching and are welded together. If a gap appears on a deep curve, lower the letter spacing a little or use a gentler curve.
Can I curve text in a circle?
Yes. Choose Circle badge for text on the top and bottom of a circle, or Full circle for text that runs all the way around.
Does it work with Silhouette and other cutting machines?
Yes. The SVG works with Silhouette Studio Designer Edition and higher, Brother ScanNCut, Glowforge and most cutting and laser software. Use the PNG for printing and sublimation.
