Bookmarks are my favorite little Cricut project. They take one sheet of cardstock and about ten minutes, and every reader I know is happy to get one.
They’re also the perfect stocking stuffer, book club favor or thank you for a teacher.

I rounded up 14 Cricut bookmark ideas, from layered papercut and tassel bookmarks to cute corner bookmarks, paper clips and magnetic ones. Each one comes with the SVG file.

What to Make Cricut Bookmarks From
A standard bookmark is about 2 by 6 inches, so a single 12 x 12 sheet gives you around ten. These are the materials I like best:
- Heavy cardstock (80 to 110 lb): the easiest choice for layered and papercut bookmarks.
- Chipboard or Kraft-Tex: sturdier, and it won’t bend in a handbag. Chipboard needs a Cricut Maker and the knife blade.
- Faux leather: soft and durable, and lovely with a vinyl name on top.
- Printable sticker paper or magnet sheets: for full-color Print Then Cut and magnetic bookmarks.
Laminate paper bookmarks or give them a coat of Mod Podge so they last longer.
How to Add a Tassel
Make sure your design has a hole near the top, or add a small circle in Design Space and slice it out. A 1/8 inch hole is big enough for embroidery floss.
Fold a tassel through the hole and pull the ends through the loop. You can thread a wooden bead onto the tassel to finish it off.
14 Cricut Bookmark Ideas
Here are my favorite Cricut bookmark ideas, from layered papercut designs to corner, magnetic and funny bookmarks.
1. True Crime Bookmark Sayings
Most Popular Bookmark Set

“This bookmark has seen some things” is one of 40 funny sayings for anyone who reads mysteries late at night. With over 120 favorites, it’s the most popular file in this list.
Cut the sayings in black vinyl on white cardstock or faux leather. One set covers a whole book club.
2. Foldable Butterfly Bookmark
Best Paper Bookmark

This one folds in half over a page, so a lacy paper butterfly peeks out of the top of your book.
Cut it in white or pearl cardstock and score the fold line. Fold the wings up a little so it looks like it’s about to fly away.
3. Hot Air Balloon Layered Bookmark
Best Layered Bookmark

A hot air balloon floats over fluffy clouds, built from four layers of cardstock.
Glue the layers together with a thin glue pen so the edges stay crisp. Sky blue, white and purple look lovely, but any three colors and a solid back will work.
4. Love 3D Papercut Bookmark
Best Bookmark for Someone You Love

“Love” runs down the bookmark in script, with leaves curling around it and a pop of red behind.
Tuck it into a book for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day or an anniversary. It’s a sweet, quick gift.
5. Vine Bookmark with Tassel
Best Tassel Bookmark

A leafy vine climbs up this two-layer bookmark, and a matching tassel with a wooden bead finishes it off.
It’s made for a laser, but two layers of cardstock or Kraft-Tex work just as well on a Cricut. I’d use a deep teal on top and a lighter shade behind.
6. Honeycomb Bookmark
Best Geometric Bookmark

A simple honeycomb grid makes this bookmark look modern, and the gold and brown colors are so warm.
Try gold shimmer cardstock over a dark brown layer. It’s a sweet gift for a bee lover or a gardener.
7. Botanical Oval Bookmark
Best Floral Bookmark

Delicate wildflowers fill this long oval bookmark, with a hole at the top for a ribbon.
The flowers are fine, so cut it slowly in cardstock on a LightGrip mat. Cream on top of kraft looks like carved wood.
8. Frog Corner Bookmark
Best Corner Bookmark

A smiley green frog hugs the corner of the page. Kids love corner bookmarks because they can’t fall out.
Cut the front and back in green cardstock and glue them together along the two outer edges, so a page corner slides in between.
9. Strawberry Corner Bookmark
Cutest Corner Bookmark

This little strawberry has tiny seed cutouts and a leafy top, and it’s so cute on the corner of a page.
Make a whole fruit basket of them for a summer reading party or a classroom.
10. Cat Paper Clip Bookmark
Best Paper Clip Bookmark

Two cats sit side by side on top of a paper clip shape that slides right over the page.
Use a sturdy cardstock so the clip doesn’t tear. It’s a cute gift for a cat lover, or for a couple who share a book.
11. Book Club Babe Bookmark
Best Book Club Gift

“Book Club Babe” in chunky retro letters with groovy flowers all around is a fun one to hand out at book club.
Print it on white cardstock and use Print Then Cut, then add a jute tassel. Make one for every member.
12. Watercolor Sunflower Bookmarks
Best Print Then Cut Bookmark

Tall watercolor sunflowers fill these printable bookmarks, and there are several designs in the set.
Print them on matte photo paper and use Print Then Cut, then laminate them. They’re also lovely for sublimation on bookmark blanks.
13. Christmas Puppy Magnetic Bookmarks
Best Magnetic Bookmark

Puppies in Santa hats and cozy scarves fold over the page as magnetic bookmarks.
Print the designs on sticker paper, stick them to a thin magnet sheet and cut them with Print Then Cut. Fold each one in half so the magnet grips the page.
14. Christmas Village Bookmark
Best Christmas Bookmark

A snowy village with little houses and pine trees sits over a bright red layer, with a sleigh flying across the top.
It’s very detailed, so cut the top layer in a smooth cardstock with a fresh blade. Tie on a red tassel and slip it into a Christmas book.
Cricut Bookmark FAQs
What size should a Cricut bookmark be?
Most bookmarks are about 2 inches wide and 6 inches long. Corner bookmarks are usually around 2.5 to 3 inches across.
What is the best cardstock for bookmarks?
A heavy cardstock around 80 to 110 lb is best. It’s thick enough to stay flat in a book but still cuts cleanly.
Can I sell bookmarks made with these SVG files?
Most Creative Fabrica files come with a commercial license for physical products, but always check the license on each product page first.
