Teachers get a lot of mugs. Most of them end up at the back of a cupboard.
A handmade gift is different. When it has the teacher’s name on it, or it’s something they can really use in the classroom, it gets kept for years.

I rounded up 18 Cricut teacher gift ideas for Christmas, Teacher Appreciation Week and the end of the school year. There are personalized mugs, tote bags, gift card holders, treat boxes and a few of my own free designs, and each one comes with the SVG file.

What Makes a Good Teacher Gift
Here’s what I keep in mind when I make a teacher gift:
- Something useful. Tote bags, pencil pouches, keychains and tumblers get used every single day.
- Their name on it. A personalized gift feels made for them, not grabbed at the store.
- Gift cards, nicely wrapped. Most teachers love a coffee or bookstore card, and a handmade holder makes it feel special.
- A note from your child. A short card from the student is often the part they keep.
Keep it simple, too. A small, thoughtful gift is better than a big one they don’t have room for.
Fonts for Teacher Names
A pretty script makes “Mrs. Jones” look like a real gift. Pair it with a simple block font for words like “Teacher” or “Thank You” so it’s easy to read.
You’ll find my favorites in my lists of the best cursive fonts for Cricut and handwriting fonts. Handwriting fonts look extra sweet on gifts that come from kids.

Useful gifts with their name on them are always a hit. A personalized mug, a tote bag or a gift card holder gets used much more than a decoration.

A small gift in the $10 to $25 range is plenty. Making it yourself with a Cricut keeps the cost low, especially if you buy blanks like mugs and totes in packs.
When do people give teacher gifts?
The most popular times are Christmas, Teacher Appreciation Week in early May and the last day of school. Some families also give a small gift on the first day.
What material should I use for teacher mugs?
Use permanent vinyl if you want to hand-wash the mug, or infusible ink with a Cricut Mug Press for a design that’s dishwasher safe.
Can kids help make teacher gifts?
Yes! Kids can weed simple designs, pick the colors and write a note on the card. Teachers love knowing their students helped.
