Earrings might be my favorite small Cricut project. They take a few scraps of faux leather, a couple of hooks and about 15 minutes, and you get something you can wear the same day.
They also make great gifts and sell really well at craft fairs.

I rounded up 17 Cricut earring ideas, from pretty layered flowers and butterflies to cute fall foxes and Christmas trees. Each one comes with an SVG file you can cut on a Cricut Maker or Explore.

Best Materials for Cricut Earrings
You don’t need anything fancy to make earrings. These are the materials I reach for most:
- Faux leather: the most popular choice. It’s light, flexible and cuts cleanly with the fine-point blade.
- Genuine leather: thin leather under 2 mm cuts well with the deep-point or knife blade on the Cricut Maker.
- Cork and chipboard: great for a natural, wood-like look without a laser.
- Glitter cardstock: perfect for party earrings. Seal it so it doesn’t shed.
- Earring findings: fish hooks, jump rings and a pair of jewelry pliers.
Most of the files in this list are shown in laser-cut wood, but the same shapes cut beautifully from faux leather or cork on a Cricut.
How to Make Faux Leather Earrings with a Cricut
Size the earrings to about 2 to 2.5 inches tall in Design Space. Put the faux leather face down on a StrongGrip mat and choose the Faux Leather (Paper Thin) setting, or the matching setting for your material.
For layered earrings, glue the layers with E6000 or fabric glue and let them dry under a heavy book. Then open a jump ring with pliers, slip it through the hole and add the earring hook.
17 Cricut Earring Ideas
Here are my favorite Cricut earring ideas, starting with layered flowers and butterflies and ending with earrings for every season.
1. Layered Butterfly Earrings
Best Layered Earrings

Pastel wings sit inside a cream butterfly frame, with a loop at the top that the hook hangs from.
Cut the frame from faux leather or cardstock and the wing inserts in two soft colors, then glue them together. They’re light enough to wear all day.
2. Layered Petal Hoop Earrings
Best Boho Earrings

A fan of petals hangs under an open hoop, with each petal in a different pastel shade.
This one is a great way to use up faux leather scraps. Mix four colors behind the cream top layer for a boho look.
3. Petal Layered Earrings
Prettiest Spring Earrings

Soft pink and blue petals peek out from a cream outline. They look like a little spring bouquet.
I’d cut the outline in cream faux leather and the petals in thin cardstock or vinyl-backed leather. Seal paper layers with Mod Podge so they last.
4. Layered Flower Dangle Earrings
Best Statement Earrings

A five-petal flower sits on top of a scalloped drop, so these swing nicely when you move.
Peach and cream look sweet together, but bright pink with white would be fun for summer. Join the two parts with a small jump ring.
5. Layered Seashell Earrings
Best Summer Earrings

Pastel stripes fill a scalloped shell. They’re made for beach days and summer vacations.
Try holographic or pearl cardstock for the inner layer so the shells shimmer in the sun.
6. Layered Heart Earrings
Best Valentine’s Day Earrings

A light pink heart sits inside a deeper pink teardrop. Simple, bold and very Valentine’s Day.
Cut both layers in faux leather and glue them with E6000. Make a few pairs at once, because friends will ask for them.
7. Butterfly Wing Earrings
Best Faux Leather Earrings

Each earring is a single butterfly wing, with a black cut-out layer over purple. Together they make a whole butterfly.
Black faux leather on top really makes the wing pattern pop. Swap the purple for orange to make monarch wings.
8. Tie-Dye Sublimation Earrings
Best Sublimation Earrings

Bright tie-dye swirls fill these teardrop earrings. The file comes in three earring shapes.
Print it with sublimation ink and press it onto MDF or aluminum earring blanks. If you don’t sublimate, print it on sticker paper and seal it with resin.
9. Honey Bee Hexagon Earrings
Best Gift for a Bee Lover

A little bee buzzes inside a honeycomb hexagon, with honey dripping from the top.
Cut it from faux leather in mustard yellow or brown. It’s a sweet gift for a beekeeper or a gardener.
10. Coffee Cup Earrings
Best Earrings for Coffee Lovers

A steaming cup with a tiny heart sits inside a teardrop. Coffee lovers will grin at these.
Brown or tan faux leather looks like a latte. Pair them with a matching coffee mug for a cute gift set.
11. Mountain Landscape Earrings
Best Earrings for Outdoor Lovers

Mountains, pine trees and a winding river are packed into a tiny teardrop.
The details are fine, so cut it from thin cardstock or chipboard on a slow setting. It’s lovely for anyone who loves hiking.
12. Easter Egg Earrings
Best Easter Earrings

A white zigzag layer sits over a pink egg, so the color peeks through the pattern.
Make a set in pink, blue and yellow and tuck them into Easter baskets.
13. Cute Fox Earrings
Cutest Fall Earrings

A smiling fox curls its tail around its feet. These are almost too cute.
Use orange, white and dark brown faux leather, and add the eyes with a fine black paint pen.
14. Sunflower and Maple Leaf Earrings
Best Fall Dangle Earrings

A sunflower, a red maple leaf and a cream leaf hang one below the other.
Link the three pieces with jump rings so they swing. They’re perfect for Thanksgiving dinner or a fall farmers market.
15. Pumpkin Teardrop Earrings
Best Thanksgiving Earrings

A simple pumpkin is cut out of a teardrop, so it works from Halloween right through Thanksgiving.
Cut it in burnt orange or cognac faux leather. It’s a quick project, so you can make a pair in under 15 minutes.
16. Layered Christmas Tree Earrings
Most Popular Earring File

Stacked green triangles, tan trunks and a little gold star make this the most saved earring file in this list.
Use glitter cardstock or glitter faux leather for the star. Wear them to every holiday party in December.
17. Snowflake Heart Earrings
Best Winter Earrings

A big snowflake is cut out of a heart, so they work all winter long, not just at Christmas.
Layer white faux leather behind the heart so the snowflake shows up clearly, or use glitter for a frosty look.
Cricut Earring FAQs
Which Cricut machine is best for earrings?
The Cricut Explore and Maker both cut faux leather earrings well. The Maker is best for genuine leather and thicker materials because it works with the knife blade.
What size should Cricut earrings be?
Most earrings look best between 1.5 and 3 inches tall. I like 2 to 2.5 inches for everyday earrings.
What blade do I use for faux leather earrings?
The fine-point blade cuts most faux leather. For thicker sheets, use the deep-point blade on the Explore or Maker.
How do I keep faux leather from sliding on the mat?
Use a StrongGrip mat and tape the edges with painter’s tape. Move the star wheels to the side on the Explore and Maker so they don’t leave marks.
Can I sell earrings made with these SVG files?
Most Creative Fabrica files come with a commercial license, so you can sell the physical earrings. Always check the license on each file before you sell.
