A sublimated gift always feels personal. You pick the design for that one person, and they get something they’ll use every day.
Mugs, tumblers and shirts are cheap to make, so you can cover your whole list without blowing your budget.

I rounded up 15 sublimation ideas for gifts, sorted by who they’re for: mom, grandma and grandpa, dad, teachers, nurses, coworkers, book, plant and coffee lovers, pet parents, couples and kids. Each one comes with the file.
Tip: Adding a name to a gift? Compare a few fonts in our free Cricut Font Previewer first, so the name is easy to read on a small mug or bottle.
How to Pick the Right Sublimation Gift
Start with what they already use every day, then pick a design that fits who they are. Here’s how I match blanks to people:
- Coffee and tea drinkers: an 11 oz or 15 oz mug.
- Busy people on the go: a 20 oz skinny tumbler with a lid, like for nurses and teachers.
- Grandparents and pet parents: a white or light polyester shirt they can wear to show off.
- Kids: a flip-top water bottle with their name on it.
Make gifts a week or two early. That gives you time to reprint if the colors don’t come out right.
How to Make Sublimation Gifts Look Store-Bought
Wipe each blank with a lint-free cloth before pressing so no dust gets trapped under the print. Use heat-resistant tape and shrink wrap on mugs and tumblers so the paper stays tight.
When it’s done, add a simple tag and wrap. A tumbler in a clear bag with a ribbon looks like it came from a boutique.

Sublimation Gift FAQs
What are the easiest sublimation gifts to make?
Mugs and tumblers. They come pre-coated, and you can press a full wrap in one go with a mug press or a convection oven.
Can I sublimate on a cotton shirt for a gift?
Not directly. Sublimation needs polyester, so use a 100% polyester shirt or one with at least 65% polyester. For cotton, use sublimation HTV or a printed transfer first.
How do I add a name to a sublimation design?
Open the PNG in Canva, Photoshop or Cricut Design Space, add the name in a font you like, then print it mirrored on sublimation paper.
