Thanksgiving sneaks up on me every single year. One week I’m cutting Halloween vinyl, and the next I’m wondering what to put on the table for a houseful of hungry people.
So I rounded up the Cricut Thanksgiving ideas I’d actually make this year. There are table crafts, door and porch signs, kitchen gifts and matching shirts for the whole family.

Every idea comes with the SVG file I’d use, so you can skip the hunting and start cutting. Whether you’re brand new to your Cricut or you have a craft room full of vinyl, you’ll find something here you can finish before the turkey’s out of the oven.

What You Need for Cricut Thanksgiving Projects
You don’t need anything fancy for these projects. Here’s what I keep on hand every November:
- A cutting machine: any Cricut Maker or Explore cuts everything on this list. A Cricut Joy works for the shirts, towels and place cards, but it’s too narrow for big porch letters.
- Permanent adhesive vinyl: for wood signs, door hangers and anything that lives outside.
- Iron-on vinyl (HTV): for shirts, sweatshirts, kitchen towels, aprons and totes.
- Cardstock: 65 to 80 lb for place cards and treat boxes, so they stand up on the table.
- Blanks: wood rounds and boards, flour sack towels, a canvas apron, a tote bag and cotton tees.
How to Make a Thanksgiving Wood Sign with Cricut
Signs are the projects I get asked about most, so here’s my quick method. It works for door rounds, porch boards and mantel signs:
- Sand the wood, then paint or stain it. Let it dry completely before any vinyl goes on.
- Upload the SVG to Design Space and size it to the board, leaving about an inch of space around the edges. Need different lettering? I’ve rounded up the best Thanksgiving fonts and fall fonts for Cricut.
- Cut the design in permanent adhesive vinyl and weed away the extra pieces.
- Lay transfer tape over the design, burnish it well, and peel the backing off.
- Place it on the sign, burnish again, and peel the transfer tape back slowly at a sharp angle.
If the sign will hang outside, use an outdoor-rated permanent vinyl so the letters don’t peel in the rain.
17 Cricut Thanksgiving Ideas
Here are my favorite Cricut Thanksgiving ideas, starting at the dinner table and working out to the front porch.
1. Turkey Place Cards
Most Loved Cricut Thanksgiving Idea

These 3D turkey place cards top my list, and they’re the most saved design in this roundup too. Each turkey has layered paper feathers and a spot on the front for a guest’s name.
Cut them from cardstock in rust, mustard and brown, then write the names with a Cricut pen. Kids love helping put them out at each plate.
2. Squirrel Treat Box
Best Free Thanksgiving SVG

This little squirrel is a free SVG, and he’s adorable. He wears a cozy orange cap and sits above a “Happy Thanksgiving” sign, with a small box behind it for candy, nuts or a tiny note.
Set one at each child’s plate as a favor, or use them as place cards for the kids’ table. The sign is a printable, so use Print Then Cut for that part.
3. Grateful Thankful Blessed Pumpkin Round
Best Design for a Wood Round

This round design wraps “grateful, thankful, blessed” around a sweet little pumpkin. It comes in a color version and a black version, so you can cut it as one color or layer it.
I’d put it on a wood round for the front door, but it also fits a throw pillow, a tote or a coffee mug.
4. Cute Turkey Door Sign
Best Thanksgiving Door Sign

This round door hanger turns the whole sign into a turkey, with bright feathers fanned around the edge. It’s cheerful without being too cutesy, so it can hang from the first of November right through the holiday.
It’s a layered design, so cut each color in adhesive vinyl or use it as a paint stencil. A rope hanger and a few faux leaves finish it off.
5. Happy Harvest Porch Sign
My Free Porch Sign Design

This one is my own design, and it’s free on the blog. “Happy Harvest” runs down a tall board in orange and gold, with leafy branches at the top and bottom.
Use a 4- or 5-foot board and cut the big letters in a few batches. Add a couple of pumpkins and a pot of mums beside it, and your porch is ready for guests.
6. Happy Turkey Day Farmhouse Sign
Best Mantel Sign

This long farmhouse sign says “Happy Turkey Day” with a little turkey tucked between the words. It looks right at home on a mantel or above the buffet where everyone gathers.
For the classic farmhouse look, stain the board a dark walnut and cut the letters in cream vinyl.
7. Family Blessing Kitchen Towel
Best Hostess Gift

“Family is life’s greatest blessing” mixes bold block letters with a flowing script, and the black design looks crisp on a white flour sack towel.
Press it with iron-on vinyl and it holds up in the wash. Tie it with twine around a wooden spoon and a jar of pumpkin butter, and you have a sweet hostess gift.
8. Gobble Til You Wobble Cutting Board
Best Kitchen Decor Idea

“Gobble til you wobble” with a turkey and a wheat wreath? Yes, please. It’s a fun piece to hang in the kitchen all November.
Use it as a vinyl decal on a decorative board, or cut it as a stencil and paint it. Keep vinyl and paint off any surface that touches food, and if you have a laser engraver, it makes a lovely engraved board too.
9. Let’s Get Basted Apron
Funniest Cricut Thanksgiving Idea

Whoever’s cooking the turkey deserves this one. “Let’s Get Basted” is the kind of pun that gets a laugh from everyone in the kitchen.
The mockup shows a framed sign, but I love it in iron-on vinyl on a canvas apron. Press it high on the chest so the ties don’t cover it.
10. Here for the Pie Dessert Sign
Best Dessert Table Sign

Every family has someone who’s only here for dessert. This sign has a little pie drawn into the lettering, and it’s perfectly honest.
White vinyl on a black-painted board gives you the same chalkboard look as the mockup. Prop it next to the pie lineup, or press it on a tee for your favorite pie lover.
11. Matching Family Thanksgiving Shirts
Best Matching Family Shirts

Matching family shirts are huge on Pinterest every November, and this design makes them easy. It has room for your last name, the year and a little “thankful for my tribe” line.
The letters have a distressed texture, which takes a little patience to weed in HTV. If you’d rather skip that, print it on printable iron-on and use Print Then Cut. Make one for everyone and take the family photo before dinner.
12. Thankful Blessed and Kind of a Mess Shirt
Best Shirt for Mom

This one is for every mom running the kitchen on Thanksgiving morning. “Thankful, blessed and kind of a mess” is honest, funny and easy to wear all season.
It’s a one-color design, so it’s a quick cut even for beginners. Black HTV on a burnt orange tee looks just like the mockup.
13. Coolest Turkey in Town Kids’ Shirt
Best Shirt for Boys

A turkey in sunglasses? Little boys love this one. It’s bold, bright and silly in the best way.
It’s a layered design with a few colors, so cut each one in HTV and press from the bottom layer up. A grey or white tee makes the colors pop.
14. Girl Turkey Face Sweatshirt
Cutest Design for Girls

This turkey has big eyes, colorful feathers and a red bow, and she’s just as cute on a toddler sweatshirt as on a tee.
Layer the face in HTV, or try glitter iron-on for the bow. For toddler sizes, keep the design about 6 to 7 inches wide.
15. My First Thanksgiving Bodysuit
Best Idea for Baby’s First Thanksgiving

Is there a new baby in the family? A “My First Thanksgiving” bodysuit is a keepsake you’ll photograph and save for years.
Wash the bodysuit first without fabric softener, and use a thin, soft HTV so it stays comfy. About 4 inches wide fits most baby sizes.
16. Will Trade Brother for Pie Sibling Shirts
Best Sibling Shirts

This file comes with both “Will trade sister for pie” and “Will trade brother for pie,” so siblings can match (and tease each other all day).
The letters are chunky and one color, so weeding is quick. It’s a great first project if your older kids want to help.
17. Classy Until Black Friday Tote
Best Black Friday Tote

For a lot of us, Thanksgiving weekend ends at the mall. “Classy until Black Friday” makes me laugh every time.
Press it on a sturdy canvas tote to carry your deals, or on a tee for the early-morning shopping trip.
Cricut Thanksgiving Ideas FAQs
What can I make with a Cricut for Thanksgiving?
You can make place cards, treat boxes, door and porch signs, kitchen towels, aprons and matching family shirts. Paper projects like place cards are the quickest, while wood signs take an afternoon because of the paint drying time.
What’s the best vinyl for Thanksgiving shirts?
Iron-on vinyl (HTV) is the easiest choice for cotton tees and sweatshirts. Everyday iron-on works for most shirts, and glitter iron-on adds sparkle to kids’ designs.
Sublimation only works on light-colored polyester, so stick with HTV for cotton.
Can I sell Thanksgiving crafts made with these SVGs?
Most Creative Fabrica designs come with a commercial license that covers handmade products, but always check the license on the product page before you sell. My Cricut ideas to sell guide has more tips on what sells well.
How early should I start my Thanksgiving Cricut projects?
I like to start two to three weeks ahead. Make signs and shirts first, since they take the longest, and save place cards and treat boxes for the week of Thanksgiving.
