Download Now: 15 FREE Christmas Fonts

Hot cocoa mugs, snow day shirts and cozy โ€œBaby, itโ€™s cold outsideโ€ signs all have one thing in common: they need a font that feels like winter.

Most winter fonts we tried were really Christmas fonts in disguise, or brand-new uploads nobody had tested yet. So we skipped the Santa hats and went looking for fonts that work all season long, from December through February. Then we checked how each one cuts in vinyl.

The result is 12 winter fonts, from soft calligraphy to snow-capped letters and even a set of penguins. Every font is on Creative Fabrica, and four of them are part of its free font collection. Letโ€™s warm up!

How to Choose the Best Winter Fonts for Cricut

Picking a winter font is all about what youโ€™re making. Here are the key things to keep in mind:

1. Match the font to the mood: Thin calligraphy feels quiet and elegant, like fresh snow. Chunky snow-capped letters feel playful, so save them for kidsโ€™ shirts and snow day signs.

2. Size up snowy details: Snowcaps, icicles and dots are tiny pieces to weed. Cut decorative winter fonts at 2 inches or taller, or use Print Then Cut for stickers and tags.

3. Weld your scripts: Calligraphy letters overlap, so select the text in Design Space and click Weld before cutting. Otherwise every letter cuts as a separate piece.

4. Think about the surface: Mugs and tumblers curve, so bold brush letters read better than hairline scripts. Hairline scripts shine on flat signs, cards and framed prints.
