What You Need to Make Water Bottles with a Cricut
You only need a few supplies:
- Water bottles: smooth stainless steel, plastic or glass bottles work best. Textured or powder-coated bottles need extra pressure.
- Permanent vinyl: Cricut Premium Permanent Vinyl or Oracal 651. Removable vinyl won’t last on a bottle you wash every day.
- Transfer tape: a clear, medium-tack tape makes it easier to line up trackers and wraps.
- Sticker paper: waterproof printable vinyl for Print Then Cut stickers.
- Rubbing alcohol: wipe the bottle first so the vinyl sticks well.
Always hand wash a vinyl water bottle. The dishwasher will peel the decal off.
How to Make a Water Tracker Bottle
Measure the straight part of your bottle first, then resize the tracker in Design Space so it fits from top to bottom. A 32 oz bottle usually fits a tracker about 7 to 8 inches tall.
Cut and weed the tracker, cover it with transfer tape, and line it up with a strip of painter’s tape as a guide. Smooth it on from the middle out, then peel the tape back slowly.
